Here we are in Week 1 of the new season of Project Project Runway.
This season the House of Nodrok is using a new model-Veronika.
Veronika was discovered while working as a nanny for a family in a suburb of Minneapolis. She was at the pool when we offered her a better gig. It will be exciting working with her in her first season on PPR.
Week 1- Time's Square Anniversary Party was the theme for the week. Designer's were challenged to take a look that we had designed in previous season that was an example of your design esthetic and design a complimentary outfit for this week. I struggled with this one. None of my designs were jumping out at me. I chose one from my final collect from last year and went with it.
This week's look is a floor length strapless dress with a layered bottom. I envision this dress flowing on the runway as Veronika shows it off. I chose simple shoes and a bag to go with it.
I hope that the judges will keep me around for another week to see what I can do.

Iron Craft #14- Denim
Wow- 2 projects in a row for me. It has been a while since I have done that. I HAVE been crafting this summer though- Kathy from Just Crafty Enough and I are doing the Granny Square Sampler that Wisecraft is hosting this summer. We are on week 9 and I am all caught up on my squares. Here is what I have done (minus last week- I need to take a new photo).
I never crocheted before so I am pretty happy I am hanging in there.
On to Iron Craft for this week. I knew immediately what I wanted to do. I needed a new bag to hold my make-up. My husband would say "you need a bag like you need a whole in the head" He knows my obsession with bags. I see one and want to buy it or make it. Anyway, I had pinned this bag on Pinterest a few weeks ago and decided this challenge was the perfect chance to try it out. The bag came in 3 different sizes and I was not sure what one I wanted so I thought I would try the small one. If it was not right, I would make another. You see, you can always find a use for a little pouch.
I loved how this bag came out.
I love the open top. It was pretty easy to make. I know I will be making a few more.
Hopefully I will have something the next challenge. I am also participating in my 3rd season of Project Project Runway. I never thought I would make it through one season let alone be doing a 3rd season. All of this during the busiest time of year for work...go figure!
I am off to find my model. See ya on the runway.

Iron Craft #13- Red, White and Blue
This is going to be a quick post...the family is waiting for me to get in the car so we can head out of town for the 4th of July BUT I finally did a project so I am going to do a post darn it :) !!! They can wait.
This week's project is all Kathy's idea. She knew we were going camping so she suggested I make candles with citronella in them to use on our table. I had left over soy wax from a project last year so I was half way there. I bought some citronella oil at Whole Foods, some crystal gloss enamel at JoAnns and just used some small canning jars. I love how they turned out.
Let's hope they keep away the mosquitos!! HAPPY 4th of JULY!!
