This week Thing 1 makes his return to the blog. Actually he is the only one that has completed anything for this week's Iron Craft Challenge. The idea for this week's craft came from Kathy. She had seen some conversation hearts made out of clay online and thought of Thing 1 and his love of all things clay. I bought some pink clay and a heart cutter, gave it to Thing 1 and he was off to work.
He made these cute pink heart necklaces to give to those special people in his life this Valentine's Day.
I hope that I am on the list.

Project Project Runway #3-Patterning for Piggy
This week for Project Project Runway the challenge was to design a flamboyant, headline making cocktail dress for Ms. Piggy. When I first heard the challenge I kind of chuckled. It was a great twist on the week.
When looking around at photos of Ms. Piggy I noticed a lot of the time she had ruffles or such at the bottom of her dress. I thought it would be fun to do something with that and then walking in JoAnn's I saw this pink feather ruffle and knew that is what I wanted to make. I know it is kind of cliche to use pink with the design but I went with it.
My design is a short ,one sleeved dress with feathers at the bottom. I love the playful hearts and the pink together.
So far I have not been a huge fan of the Neiman Marcus wall for the accessories. Also, I am sure that Ms. Piggy will not be able to wear the shoes I picked for the outfit but a girl has to dream doesn't she?
I wish they had made the winning design for Ms. Piggy and had her model it for us.

Through the eyes of Thing 2
While looking through photos in my iPhoto library I came across this photo of Thing 2's foot.
You see Thing 2 got a new camera and iTouch for Christmas and since he does not have a computer his photos get downloaded onto my laptop. It just made me chuckle so see the things that he thought would be good to take a photograph of. It sure put a smile on my face.
His light in his room
His dog
His map
And command central-video games, CD's, iTouch and radio
Who knows what the next download will hold.

Project Project Runway #2- A Night at the Opera
The House of Nodrok is back at it with week #2 of Project Project Runway after not making the deadline for week #1. The judges were nice enough to give them a pass. This week the challenge was to design a gown to be worn at a high society event, like the opera.
I chose black and sequins. A little bit of bling with classic black.
The design is a wrap around shirt with a straight black skirt with a slit in the black. It is dressy without being too over the top.
Let's hope the judges think the same way and keep me in another week. I am having a hard time figuring them out.

Iron Craft #1- Paper
Happy 2012!
It was weird this time getting use to the extra week to do my project. Even with the extra week I was still doing my project this past weekend and it is now the night before the due date and I am finally writing the post. I kind of knew it would happen but I do like that if I have a busy week I don't have to get the project done right away.
For this project I knew right away what I wanted to make. Not only do I have a thing for bags- just ask Kathy from Just Crafty Enough- every time we walk the mall I see a bag that "I just need to have" but I also love little notebooks. You see, I am totally a list person, a YELLOW for those that have done temperament testing. I decided I wanted to make a notebook to keep around to jot down crafting and knitting ideas.
This project was super easy. I used an empty cereal box, a piece of scrapbook paper, some printer paper and my sewing machine. I just covered the 10 x 7 piece of the cereal box I cut out with the scrapbook paper, scored the cover and sewed in some pieces of paper.
I also plan on making Thing 1 & 2 little sketch books. I want to give them to them for Valentine's Day but they were around the day I was putting mine together.
Well I had better get to work on my Project Project Runway for this week while Thing 1 is studying and Thing 2 is at hockey practice.
